Year 7 - Physical education
Dance: identity
This unit is a thematic approach drawing upon personal experiences to consolidate and deepen their knowledge and understanding of Action-Space-Dynamics-Relationships to create, develop and analyse ideas, motifs and dances. They will use similarities and differences to form connections and contrast.
You will learn to collaborate to choreograph a dance using different spatial arrangements.
Move: using the space competently enables a dance idea to be communicated effectively. Think: finding things we have in common involves reflecting on previous experiences.
the height of a shape or action - high, medium or low.
Mistake: Pupils are all uncomfortable with physical contact. Correction: Contact must involve respect. Care should be taken to ensure any touch is appropriate. Most pupils are sensitive to this and respond appropriately. Teachers can guide this by identifying how contact should be made, e.g. touch toe to toe.
