Textiles
Pupils learn about biomimicry and innovation. They will learn how to use sources of inspiration to create a range of ideas for a product encouraging children to grow vegetables. The pupils will develop ideas and manufacture a prototype. Variation allows for different material outcomes.
You will learn to mark out materials accurately to manufacture your design.
When measuring textiles materials, tape measures are used. When marking out textiles materials, pattern pieces are used.
the process of measuring and drawing on a material before manufacture.
Mistake: Any marking tool will work on any material. Correction: Using the wrong tool (e.g a pencil on metal) can result in unclear or inaccurate marks. Different materials require specific marking tools, such as pencils for paper and boards, and marking knives for wood.
