Year 10 - Design and technology
Systems approach to design: Sustainable Futures
Pupils will develop knowledge of electronic components and a systems approach to designing. They will learn about different components and use these to build and test circuits for different purposes. They will design a system to control a greenhouse environment, considering the different variables.
You will learn to identify and use different input components in control systems.
A switch controls the flow of current in a circuit or system by making or breaking a circuit. Input components may sense a specific condition such as light, moisture or temperature.
controls the flow of current by making or breaking a circuit.
Mistake: Systems only use one input. Correction: Systems often have multiple inputs. These can be switches and sensors.
