Year 11 - Computing
Digital media
In this unit pupils will develop pre-production skills used in digital media. They will learn the importance of understanding client requirements, planning, developing timeframes and the steps involved in these processes. They will be exposed to a variety of software tools and learn how to use them.
You will learn to explain the different features of a good website and follow a plan to create a multi-page website.
All websites are built using HTML — even if site-building software is used, HTML is in the background. CSS is used for creating styles to use throughout the process of creating a website.
HyperText Markup Language, which is used to define and structure content on web pages. Add one real device or system example to prove understanding.
Mistake: Websites require specialist knowledge to create and publish. Correction: Drag-and-drop software and online platforms allow anyone to create and publish a website easily.
