When the same pattern repeats itself over and over again, it is called a repeating pattern.
A repeating pattern can be extended, making it longer.
The part of the pattern that repeats itself over and over again is called the unit of repeat.

Repeating pattern: An arrangement that follows the same rule over and over again.
Extend: To make something longer in length or larger in size.
Unit of repeat: The part of the pattern that happens over and over again.
