Year 10 - Physical education
Health and wellbeing: commitment to a personalised training plan
This unit will develop pupils' ability to design and carry out a training programme with a focus on physical fitness and commitment to exercise that is enjoyable and tailored. Pupils will also learn about nutrition to help support them in living a healthy and active life beyond school.
You will learn to plan a risk assessment to prevent hazards causing injuries within the training programme.
Move: before starting exercise, checks should be completed for anything that could present as a risk. Think: risk management practices keep everyone safe, such as designated areas, rules and limits.
the possibility of an injury occurring.
Mistake: Every risk can be planned for. Correction: There may be some risks that cannot be planned for, so we must be able to dynamically risk assess on an ongoing basis (e.g. the piece of equipment you were planning to use breaks and becomes unfit for purpose).
