In this unit pupils undergo a wider depth study which tells a story about a period that shaped the world we live in today: the Cold War. They look at the key events, developments, people and stories that defined the international relations in this Cold War period.
You will learn to explain the significance of US involvement in Vietnam in the years 1954-68.
South Vietnam was supported by the USA. US involvement in Vietnam escalated between 1954 and 1968.

Mistake: US assistance to South Vietnam immediately included the deployment of American ground troops. Correction: The US began supporting South Vietnam in 1954 but did not deploy US ground troops there until 1965.
