Year 9 - Physical education
Health and wellbeing: healthy leadership and effective reviewing skills
This unit will explore ways to lead, motivate and set SMART targets for themselves and others to help construct a meaningful fitness based activity. Pupils will also learn about some of the barriers to participation and how to review progress to help maintain motivation.
You will learn to set goals using SMART targets to increase motivation through teamwork activities.
Move: completing teamwork activities with high intensity requires good body control and balance. Think: remain calm and focussed to complete a challenge.
a specific aim or target that a person or group strives to achieve.
Mistake: Pupils think a goal or a target it the end product or outcome to be achieved. Correction: A goal can be based on outcome, however it can also be a goal set about the performance or process of doing something. For example, building a 3-2-1 pyramid in the quickest time compared to building the 3-2-1 pyramid without dropping any objects.
