Year 7 - Physical education
Outdoor adventurous activities: teamwork, fitness and movement skills
This unit explores skillful movement and physical fitness through teamwork challenges. Pupils will develop teamwork skills and understand both why and how to warm up for different types of physical activity.
You will learn to contribute to team fitness challenges by performing exercises to the best of your ability.
Move: running fast requires you to slightly lean forwards, keep your head up and pump the arms and legs simultaneously. Think: fitness is having the speed, strength and stamina to meet the needs of the activity.
your ability to meet the needs of the activity using speed, strength and stamina.
Mistake: Believing that hard work involves rushing to complete the maximum number of repetitions but with poor form. Correction: Doing less movements with the correct technique will have a more positive impact on fitness than blasting out lots with poor form/range of movement.
