Outdoor adventurous activities: teamwork, fitness and movement skills
This unit explores skillful movement and physical fitness through teamwork challenges. Pupils will develop teamwork skills and understand both why and how to warm up for different types of physical activity.
You will learn to orientate a simple map of a netball court and follow a predetermined path.
Move: changing direction when running requires you to run on the balls of your feet and turn your hips. Think: different symbols are used to represent different features on the map.
a pulse raiser and stretching/mobility exercise that helps prepare the body for activity and reduces the risk of getting injured.
Mistake: Confusion transferring the route from the map to real life. Correction: By orientating the map and holding it facing the same way relative to key features/north, you can quickly navigate around and avoid confusion every time you change direction.
