Physical training: health and fitness
This unit will explore the relationship between health, fitness, exercise and performance before unpacking the different components of fitness. This understanding will include key definitions, how to test and train each but also which components are most important for different sports.
You will learn to describe different types of strength and consider the appropriate fitness tests to measure strength.
Strength includes maximal, static, dynamic and explosive strength. Dynamic strength is similar to muscular endurance.

Mistake: There is only one type of strength which we usually associate with lifting heavy weights. Correction: There are four types of strength: maximal, dynamic, static and explosive.
